广西农垦始建于1951年，广西农垦集团是自治区政府直属的规模化生产、集团化管理、产业化经营的大型企业集团。现有96家企事业单位，分布在全区13个市39个县，资产总额118亿元，250亩土地，18万职工队伍。机制糖、剑麻制品、木薯淀粉、畜牧水产、亚热带水果、茶叶是集团的六大支柱产业。拥有两家农业产业化国家重点龙头企业，六家自治区农业重点龙头企业；一家广西唯一的全国大型农产品加工流通企业，四家全国中型农产品加工流通企业，两家中国高新技术企业。拥有一个全国农产品加工业示范基地，国内首家并且规模最大的精制糖生产基地，全国最大的剑麻制品加工基地，全国最大的木薯变性淀粉加工基地，全国连片面积最大的高位池海水养殖基地，华南地区最大的种猪生产基地。
    近年来，广西农垦经济快速发展，主要经济指标连续三年年均增长超过20%。招商引资及对外经济合作与交流蓬勃发展，与中国-东盟博览会秘书处、中山大学、泰国九属会馆建立了战略合作关系，与40多个国家和地区建立了经贸合作关系。不到两年时间，引进各类项目合作资金150亿元，进入农垦投资的各类企业125家，与农垦合作的科研院所和单位100多家。
    目前，广西农垦按照自治区党委、政府的要求，在大力发展机械化、科技化、现代化农业的同时，加大对外开放力度，加快工业化、城镇化建设步伐，把农垦建成全区重点的新的经济增长点，在农业农村经济结构调整中发挥更大的示范作用，为富民兴桂跨越做出新的更大的贡献。

    Founded in 1951,Guangxi State Farms Group,is characterized by its scale production, conglomerate management and industrial operation. There are 96 institution distributed over an area of Guangxi and 11.8 billion RMB of total assets. Itcover an area of 166 thousand odd hectares,has 180 thousand of employees and six pillar industries in field of sugar,sisal,cassava starch,stockbreeding & aquaculture, subtropical fruits and tea.There is a national level demonstratio site on value-added processing of agriculture products; a sole refined sugar base in china; the largest sisal-processing base in China; the largest cassava starch base in China; the largest seafood cultivation base in China and the largest boar-breeding center in south China.
    Guangxi State Farm Group has witnessed a significant development in recent years.The major economic indicators have remained 20% increase in recent 3 consecutive years. The promotion of business with outside investors and the economic cooperation with foreign coutries is progrssing well. the Group has fostered the strategiccooperation relationships with the
unitslike CAEXPO Secretariat,Zhongshan Univerdity and Jiushu Assembly of Thailand.the economic relationships have been set up years between the group and 40 Countries and Regions.Within 2 years, the contract value of different projects of 15 billion RMB has been achieved.The number of partner enterprises has been totaled at 125 and the number of partner research units has grown up to more than 100.
    With the guidance from Regional Party Committee and Regional Govemment, The Guangxi State Farm Group is moving towards the setup of industrialized, modernized and high-tech agricultural system.
